You may request disability accommodations for orientation (interpreting services, disability parking, accessible seating, etc.) by contacting the Office of Orientation at least two weeks before orientation begins. Visually impaired students may request assistance with campus navigation during orientation and may also request that materials be provided in braille. Our phone number is 303-492-4431.
It is important that students requiring sign language interpretation contact us well in advance of their orientation so sign language interpreters can be arranged.
Because there are significant distances between buildings used during orientation, we suggest that students using manual wheelchairs and students who have temporary injuries or mobility impairments contact us in advance of orientation so accommodations may be arranged.
Disability Services (DS) reminds incoming students and their parents that accommodations for academics are based upon evidence of impact due to a disability. Documentation requirements are published at www.colorado.edu/disabilityservices/doc.html.
Students should submit their documentation to DS. To schedule an intake appointment during orientation, students should call DS on the first day of orientation. The office will then schedule a time that does not conflict with orientation activities.
DS also offers a fall welcome information session for parents during the final fall orientation program on Wednesday, August 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Center for Community, room N215A. Contact DS at 303-492-8671 or e-mail dsinfo@colorado.edu for more information.
